Frequently asked questions.

What should I expect in my first therapy session?

Our first session is all about getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping for, and what feels most important to you. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and decide if this feels like the right fit.

No pressure. No need to have it all figured out.

How long are sessions and how often do we meet?

Therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes. Most clients meet weekly or biweekly, depending on your needs, goals, and availability. We’ll work together to find a rhythm that works best for you.

Do you see teens and young adults?

Yes! I love working with teens, young adults, and their families. This is such a rich, transformative time of life — full of both growing pains and growth. I create a safe, supportive space where young people can explore who they are, what they’re feeling, and how to move through hard things.

Can parents be involved in teen therapy?

Yes, when it’s helpful and appropriate. Sometimes that means meeting with parents separately to talk through concerns or sticky dynamics; other times, it may involve occasional joint sessions. I aim to support the whole system while respecting the teen’s need for autonomy and trust. I love to talk about this in the first session with everybody so we are all on the same page!

Do you offer therapy for parents, too?

Absolutely. Parenting — especially during the teen years — can be overwhelming, isolating, and full of second-guessing. I work with parents who are doing their best and feeling stretched thin. Together, we can find clarity, balance, and ways to show up with more presence and less panic. Check out my parent page to learn more!

What kinds of issues do you help with?

I work with clients navigating:

  • Anxiety, overwhelm, and burnout

  • Grief (including ambiguous grief and life changes that don’t have clean endings)

  • Identity shifts and life transitions

  • Relationship and family dynamics

  • Boundaries and people-pleasing

  • Finding yourself again after getting lost in the roles of career, caregiving, or partnership

What’s it like to work with Kevin (your therapy dog)?

Kevin is a five-year-old goldendoodle with a gentle spirit and a love for tennis balls, belly rubs, and emotional regulation. He’s trained in animal-assisted therapy and has an incredible ability to bring calm and connection to the room. He’s available for sessions if you'd like his support — or he can nap in the room (or in his crate) if you’d prefer a fur-free session. You can learn about more about Kevin on our about us page. I try to have Kevin at every session possible, but there are times he in unable to attend. Don’t worry, we will make the best of it without him!

Do you offer clinical supervision?

Yes! I offer individual (or group) supervision for social workers and counselors. My approach is trauma-informed, reflective, and relational — grounded in over 20 years of experience in the social services field. You can learn more on the Clinical Supervision page .

Do you accept insurance?

At this time, I am a private-pay practice. I can provide a superbill if you'd like to submit claims to your insurance for possible reimbursement. I’m happy to walk you through what that process looks like. You can find my fees here!

How do I schedule a session?

You can most definitely call/text/email or complete my form to book a session with me. I do want to have a consultation call with every person before we decide to schedule because I want us to both feel like we are a good fit! This process is explained here!
