Therapy for Middle/High School Aged Youth

Therapy for Teens: A Space Just for You

Life as a Teen Can Feel Like A Lot

Middle and high school bring big changes, growing expectations, and sometimes overwhelming emotions. Maybe you're feeling anxious, stressed, stuck, or just unsure of yourself. Maybe things with friends, school, or family feel off - or like no one really gets it.

You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

Therapy is a place that’s all about you - your voice, your story, your feelings. It’s a judgment-free zone where you can talk about what’s on your mind, process what you’re going through, and start to feel more like you again.

I remember what it was like to be a teenager - how big the emotions felt, how confusing the world could be, and how hard it was when no one seemed to really understand. I made a promise to myself back then that I’d never forget that feeling - and it’s part of why I do this work now. Therapy is where you don’t have to explain everything perfectly or have it all figured out. You just get to be human.

What Therapy with Me is Like

In our sessions, we’ll go at your pace. Some days you might feel like talking a lot, other days you might just want to sit with Kevin (my therapy dog 🐾) and take a breather. That’s okay. I’m here to listen, not to lecture.

We might talk about:

  • Stress, anxiety, or feeling overwhelmed

  • Social stuff - friends, dating, drama

  • School pressure or burnout

  • Family challenges or communication issues

  • Self-esteem, identity, or confidence

  • Grief, transitions, or big life changes

We might also draw, write, learn some calming techniques, go for a walk, or just talk through things that don’t make sense yet. Therapy doesn’t have to look one way - it just has to feel helpful to you.

Why Therapy Can Help (Especially Right Now)

Your brain and your world are growing fast - and so is your sense of who you are. Therapy gives you space to:

  • Figure out your emotions (and what to do with them)

  • Build confidence in who you are and what matters to you

  • Learn tools to manage stress, anxiety, or tough thoughts

  • Find your voice in a way that feels strong, not scary

Therapy now can help you feel more grounded, more in control, and more connected - not just today, but long into your future.

Sometimes, if you're okay with it, we can also invite your parent or caregiver in for a session to talk through things that feel extra tough at home. You’ll always have a say in how that goes - and it’s just one more way we can help everyone understand and support each other better.
